TITLE : Printing Envelopes on a HP Laserjet or Compatible
To correctly print envelopes on an HP Laserjet or compatible
(emulating the HP command set), create your report as follows ...
1. Create a free form report with no headers or footers
(report, page, or group).
2. Set the report page length = C, for continuous.
3. Set a custom setup string of ...
\027E\027&l3h1o1e45F
│
└── This character can be one of the
following ...
1 - Upper Tray
2 - Manual Input
3 - Envelope / Manual
4 - Lower Tray
6 - Envelope Feeder
4. Create your form band as follows ...
─\/form────────────────────────────────────
FF
┌─ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
┌──┤ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
│ └─ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, AA AAAAAAAAAA
│ -/\form────────────────────────────────────
│
│
│ ┌─ This is where you design your envelope. All
└──┤ information to be placed on it should be in the
└─ form band.
FF - is a Form Feed character embedded on the first line
of the form band. Select Miniscript from the PAL menu
(<Alt>-F10) and give the command TYPEIN "\012" <Enter>.
No other information should be placed on this line.
5. To place the text correctly on your envelopes, set the
left margin with SETTING/MARGIN, and add blank lines into
the form band for a top margin.

As a side note, there may be a blank envelope or two at the
beginning or end of a print job. This normal and should be
expected.
By changing the source for paper input, you can test with blank
sheets of paper, making adjustments to the margins before using
actual envelopes.
